Layer Properties window

Layer properties allow for seperation of data based on attributes such as style, color, and width.  Additionally, dim  layer and dim suffix may be specified.  These are important when printing maps or exporting data.  Layers with style = LINE AND a specified SUFFIX, are considered dimensionable items.  That is to say, a tile line that will be shown dimensioned, and included in a materials listing.

Data can be separated by Layer name, but share the same attributes.  For example, one could have original topo data on the system layer TOPO, and alternately have data on a user defined layer for example called "appended topo", also with the style of TOPO.  Both layers data are treated the same, as topographical data, but you can separate the data when needed easily by turning either layer off or on.

Dim Layer and Suffix

5. Dim Layer and Suffix
Layer and Suffix can be set in the TLuser.txt file or edited here.  Layer is for use when DXF's or ESRI SHP files are exported.  This allows for creation of a dimension layer, separate from the actual Line layer.
The user can supply a suffix which is used for the display of footage on the Layer window, when exporting to files, when dimensioned maps are generated.

Important: Supplying a suffix text with layers of Style = LINE, tells TL Office that this layer is one which is DIMENSIONED.  i.e. a line which is included in the materials listing.  Layers with style LINE and no suffix text, are never dimensioned or included in materials totals.  Intended for previously existing lines from a prior installation.
